Job summary

A leading archery manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Operator Level 1. The role involves the safe and proficient operation of CNC machines while upholding production and quality standards. You will perform inspections, maintain cleanliness, and work as part of a cohesive team. Candidates should have high school education and preferred experience in CNC operations. Job description

While upholding Hoyt’s Policies and Mission and Vision Statements, the CNC Operator Level 1 is responsible for safe and proficient operation of the CNC machines, deburring and inspection of manufacturing handles and small parts for bows. Level 1 is familiar with machining terminology and machining principles. Works to meet the schedule, reduce scrap and communicates ways for shop to improve.

Essential Functions

Upholds production and quality standards: This person is responsible for the safe operation of machines. Ensures efficient material flow through the production area. Performs inspection at designated AQL levels. Maintains proper care of equipment and machinery, as well as cleanliness and organization of the work area. Cleans and organizes designated area within the machine shop to conform to MSP standard. Report scrap and non-conformances. Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.

Additional Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: This position requires (can be learned on the job):

  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Stand 10 Hours
  • Wear N95 Respirator As Required
  • Work in an environment that requires safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toe boots.
  • Understand coolant % and how to maintain coolant
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiar with inspections gages
  • Able load/unload parts in fixture
  • Able to accurately document part measurements
  • Familiar with 6S
  • Familiar with terminology used in key performance indicators and metrics

Training and Education

Education: High school

Required Work Experience

Type of experience: Previous CNC machine operation experience preferred

Note: Management reserves the right to require specific training for this position. However, depending upon the type and the quality of prior work experience, some exchanges can be made between training and experience.

Ability to determine if the work meets the quality standards set by Hoyt. Must make minor decisions and solve problems related to meeting daily schedule requirements.

This job requires the ability to interact with other employees and work as a member of a team. Responsible for maintaining a cohesive work group.

Working Environment

Physical environment – Works in production environment with exposure to varying noise and temperature levels. May be required to do moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, standing, reaching, walking and standing for long periods. Climbing ladders and exposure to heights is required.

Mental pressure – Demands to meet department quality standards and daily schedule requirements.
