Job summary

Owens Corning North Platte plant is seeking a diligent CNC operator to set up, program, and run CNC routers on 2nd shift. You will interpret blueprints, adjust controls, and ensure products meet exact specifications while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.

The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, accuracy in measurement, reliability, and teamwork to support efficient production at 1120 Industrial Ave, North Platte, NE.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, operate and tend CNC router.
• Start router, adjust controls and run trial cuts.
• Determine product specs and machine setup from blueprints/work orders.
• Feed doors into CNC machine to produce routing.
• Adjust CNC tables and controls for specified cuts.
• Monitor CNC operation and correct issues to meet specs.
• Inspect and stack finished pieces and prepare for next station.
• Verify quality of all products and monitor production.
• Maintain data entry for production metrics.

Pay:

The hourly pay rate range for this position is 24.64 + shift differential and benefits. Base pay will vary within the range depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is specific to North Platte and may not be applicable to other locations.

What your day in this role might involve at OC-North Platte:

• Set up, program, operate and to tend computerized woodworking machine (CNC router).
• Start router machine, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly.
• Determine product specifications and materials, work methods, and machine setup requirements, according to blueprints and work orders.
• Feed doors into CNC machine to produce desired routing.
• Adjust CNC machine tables or cutting devices and set controls to produce specified cuts or operations.
• Monitor operation of CNC machine and make adjustments to correct problems and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Inspect and mark completed work pieces and stack them on pallets, so that they can be moved to the next workstation.
• Verifies quality of all completed products and monitors production.
• Masterpack data entry (scrap, reloads, production).
• Ability to maintain focus while working individually
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

• Do repetitive movements (hand, arm, leg; bending and twisting at the waist; bending at the knee; squatting; lift, push and pull 60-pounds)
• Withstand exposure to temperature extremes; sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
