Job summary

Staffmark Group in Jersey Village, TX is hiring a CNC Operator to program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to manufacture precision components. The position offers a pay rate of $26.00 to $30.00 per hour and a schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

You will inspect parts, read blueprints, edit G-code, and ensure compliance with tolerances in a modern manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Reading blueprints, drawings, and specs precisely.
  • Able to interpret GD&T and precision measurement procedures.
  • Experience setting up CNC lathes and mills; editing G-code.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC controls and load parts.
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specs.
  • Interpret drawings and determine dimensions from samples.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Duties
  • Operate controls, load parts, and prove programs
  • Inspect parts for conformance to requirements
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience preferred in set-up of CNC Lathes and CNC Vertical milling machines
  • Experience with reading and editing G-code will be expected
  • Knowledge in the use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments
  • Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Must be adaptable to a changing environment and competing demands and can deal with request changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred.
  • Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Operator.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
