Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials Services is hiring a CNC Operator in Washington state to set up and run CNC milling machines and ensure parts meet exact specifications. The role requires interpreting drawings and maintaining quality in a safe, organized warehouse environment.

The position operates on a 4:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule Friday through Sunday, with potential to work with Mazak/Doosan equipment and perform additional machining tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year CNC operations experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with heavy machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Perform CNC program operations, including feed/speed adjustments.
  • Read and apply engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Verify dimensions with precision measuring tools.
  • Compute dimensions, tolerances, and lay out workpieces.
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Ensure material meets work order specifications and record measurements.
  • Debur and finish parts to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team to improve processes and productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Operate additional tools as needed (sawing, turning, drilling, grinding).
  • This role works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

Job Summary

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines and related equipment to produce precision parts. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. The CNC Operator will ensure parts meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

  • 4am - 4:30pm (Friday-Sunday)
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Perform CNC program operations, including feed/speed adjustments and adding passes when necessary.
  • Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and technical tables.
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure, and lay out workpieces.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments as needed.
  • Ensure all material meets work order specifications and record measurements per written work instructions.
  • Debur and finish parts to meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Operate additional machine tools when required, such as sawing, turning, boring, drilling, and precision grinding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.

  • Experience operating Mazak and Doosan machines.
  • Familiarity with G-code.
  • Troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve production issues.
Job Compensation

Washington State Pay Transparency: This position is being compensated between $23.81 - $32.21 per hour.
