Job summary

Globalchannelmanagement in Lake Forest, CA, seeks a CNC Mold Tech II with 5+ years of CNC programming and machining focused on injection molds. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines and create CNC programs with CAM software.

Collaborate with Mold Design Engineers and Tool Room Supervisors, troubleshoot materials, work-holding, and machine settings. Read CAD drawings for injection molds, interpret component drawings, and design fixtures as needed to support efficient production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience, with most time in injection mold work.
• Experience with DMG Mori Seki machines.
• Experience with Mitsubishi EDM (Wire & Sinker).
• Experience with Pro/E and/or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with 3D Modeling.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates automatic CNC machines and manual machines as needed.
• Creates CNC programs with CAM software.
• Performs general mold repair work, machining, grinding, etc.
• Works with Mold Design Engineers and Mold Tool Room Supervisor to develop efficient relationships.
• Solves problems related to material, work-holding, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
• Reads and interprets complex CAD drawings/specifications of injection molds and part models.
• Interprets mold component drawings for form, fit and function.
• Designs and builds jigs and fixtures as needed.

CNC Mold Tech II requires 5+ years of CNC Programming & Machining experience with the majority of this time related specifically to injection molds

• Experience in DMG Mori Seki
• Experience in Mitsubishi EDM (Wire & Sinker)
• Experience with Pro E and/or Solidworks
• Experience with Geometrical, Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Experience with 3D Modeling
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of experience

Duties:

• Sets up and operates automatic CNC machines and manual machines as needed.
• Creates CNC programs with CAM software.
• Performs general mold repair work, machining, grinding etc. Some mold preventative maintenance and inspection.
• Works with Mold Design Engineers and Mold Tool Room Supervisor as needed to develop a constructive efficient relationship.
• Solves problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process.
• Reads & interprets complex CAD drawings/specifications of injection molds and part models.
• Interprets mold component drawings for form, fit and function.
• Designs and builds jigs and fixtures as needed.
