Job summary

Manpower on behalf of its client in Santa Ana, CA, is seeking a CNC Mills and Lathe Setup/Operator. You will set up and run CNC Mill and Lathe tools (Fadal, Kitamura, Bridgeport) to produce parts to preset standards, using blueprints and specifications. The shift is 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities.

Pay is $28/hour. You will read blueprints, adjust feeds and tooling, inspect first articles, and ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators (tolerance ± .001”).
• Knowledge of G and M codes, machine offsets, and setup procedures.
• Wears PPE and follows safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC Mill and Lathe machines to preset standards with tooling and sequences.
• Work from drawings and specs, adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and sequences with programmers’ assistance.
• Set up and inspect first articles for QA verification.
• Change cutting tools and adjust tool/work offsets.
• Detect and report unsafe operations and equipment issues to maintain safety and productivity.

What's the Job?

• Responsible for setting up a variety of CNC Mill & Lathe machine tools including Fadal, Kitamura, and Bridgeport to produce acceptable products to preset standards.
• Works from drawings, blueprints, job layouts, and other specifications, adjusting feeds, speeds, tooling, and operational sequences as required with programmers’ assistance.
• Set up and inspect first article parts on proven programs and turn them in for Quality Assurance verification.
• Change cutting tools and adjust tool and work offsets as required to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to maintain safety and productivity.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CNC manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years of CNC Mills and Lathe experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators to tolerances of ± .001”.
• Knowledge of “G” and “M” codes, machine and tool offsets, and setup procedures.
• Wears required personal protective equipment and follows all safety policies and procedures.
