Modern Packaging is seeking a CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate CNC milling machines at their Deer Park, NY location.

Do you enjoy this work?

  • Perform set-ups and manufacture the first piece
  • Read and understand specifications and drawings
  • Perform first piece inspection
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions to plan machine set-up
  • Select correct tools and make necessary adjustments including speeds and feeds
  • Produce high-quality machined parts
  • Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation, and housekeeping requirements
  • Measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications

Shift Details:

  • Day shift hours are 7am to 5:30pm M-F and 7am to 12pm Saturdays
  • Night shift hours are 5pm to 4am M-F

  • 5+ years machining experience, including 2+ years setup experience
  • Experience with CNC set-up and running VMC machines
  • Ability to communicate and have technical discussions in English
  • Proven ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings, as well as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Organized and dedicated to a clean, safe, and orderly work area
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to multitask
  • Capable of performing basic math, including working with and converting between fractions and decimals
