Job description

Krones designs, develops, manufactures, and installs both machines and complete packaging lines. This is a 2nd shift opportunity in the Milling Department and involves performing a series of complex machine operations. Typical job runs are 1-10 parts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program, setup and run CNC machines
  • Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine
  • Edit in G-code and manually program using machine control
  • Setup fixturing and come up with your own setups on machine
  • Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections
  • Setup cutters in holders and adjust height and length
  • Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specifications, and tolerances
  • Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements
  • Use various hand tools to finish parts and check
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met
  • Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S)
  • Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixturing and other essential equipment
  • Operate other machines in the department as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required. Advanced education or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 3-5 years of CNC experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in editing G-Code and manual programming preferred.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls are also essential.
  • Willingness to move between work centers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift heavy weights, bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in various conditions such as extreme heat and noise level
