Job summary

Joyce/Dayton Corp. in Portland, IN is seeking a CNC Mill Operator II to safely and efficiently manufacture parts meeting quality standards. The role is hourly and non-exempt, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

You will set up and operate CNC mills, read blueprints, troubleshoot programs, inspect parts for accuracy, and contribute to process improvements. Experience reading process sheets and working with various metals is required.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or GED required and related experience.
• 3 years of proven CNC Mill experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret routing information.
• Capable of inspecting work and meeting quality requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Machine metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to close tolerances.
• Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining.
• Edit pre-written programs and troubleshoot as needed.
• Set up and operate CNC machines with set-up sheets and instructions.
• Inspect first run pieces and spot check subsequent parts for conformance.
• Utilize inspection instruments to verify dimensions per print.
• Maintain machine fluid levels and perform routine tool changes.
• Study job packets to organize materials for next orders.
