CNC Mill Operator - 1st Shift Opportunity

Position Details

We have 1 position available on the 1st shift, from 6:48 am to 3:18 pm. This is a level 2 position.

Summary

A successful CNC Milling Operator will safely and efficiently manufacture parts meeting all quality and safety standards. This hourly, non-exempt role reports to the Production Planner Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work to close tolerances (e.g., .0002")
2. Machine metals including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
3. Monitor and maintain machine fluid levels
4. Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements
5. Edit pre-written programs for process improvements and troubleshooting
6. Mount workpieces and set up tooling
7. Select and install tooling in sequence as per process sheet
8. Observe control panel displays and verify with process sheet data
9. Override programs and correct machine performance as needed
10. Inspect first run and subsequent pieces for conformance using precision instruments
11. Organize materials and study job packets to reduce cycle and setup time
12. Set up and operate additional machine tools during cycles
13. Read CNC programs and run single block programs when required
14. Identify and implement process improvements
15. Perform equipment maintenance and tool sharpening
16. Crosstrain on other machinery as required

Minimum Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED
• At least 3 years of CNC Mill experience
• Knowledge of cutting tools and machine speeds/feeds
• Ability to work independently and interpret blueprints
• Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills
• Experience with steady rest and advanced gearing terminology
• Own basic hand tools

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Pass a basic fitness test
