Job summary

PLI Manufacturing, a company of Phoenix Defense, seeks an experienced CNC Mill Machinist for our Day Shift in Gilbert, AZ. You will set up, operate, and optimize CNC mills, running multiple units to produce aerospace-grade parts.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing, proficiency with 3- to 5-axis machines, and fluency in reading aerospace blueprints. A self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing/production experience.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and multi-axis mills (3-5 axis).
• Experience setting up and running 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Mills.
• Experience using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas controls.
• Ability to read aerospace blueprints and interpret complex drawings.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machine tools for standard and repetitive operations.
• Run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain 5-S principles and housekeeping.
• Sustain production standards and quality.
• Recognize, deploy, and use inserts, fixtures, and tooling properly.
• Perform regular cleaning and preventive maintenance on equipment.

CNC Mill Machinist - Day Shift

What You Will Do

As a CNC Mill Machinist, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Set up, operates, and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
• Ability to run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
• Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Sustain production standards and quality.
• Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

About You

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and methods, experience setting up and running 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills.
• Experience using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain
• Proficiently interpret in depth aerospace blueprints.
• Self-motivated individual that needs minimal supervision to be successful.
• Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
• Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications
• Able to operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
