Job summary

PLI Manufacturing, a part of Phoenix Defense, is hiring a CNC Mill Machinist for the day shift. You will set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills to perform standard, repetitive operations, and check parts for conformance, following blueprints.

Candidates should have 7+ years in manufacturing, experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills, and familiarity with Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas controls. We value self-motivation, ability to follow English work instructions, and a commitment to 5-S and clean,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with 3,4,5 axis CNC mills.
• Experience with Heidenhain, Fanuc, Haas controls.
• Ability to interpret aerospace blueprints.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Able to read English work instructions.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a CNC Mill Machinist, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Set up, operates, and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
• Ability to run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
• Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Sustain production standards and quality.
• Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

ABOUT YOU:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and methods, experience setting up and running 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills.
• Experience using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain
• Proficiently interpret in depth aerospace blueprints.
• Self-motivated individual that needs minimal supervision to be successful.
• Ability to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
• Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications
• Able to operate and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations where programs are provided, and setups are often made and maintained by others.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
