This role collaborates closely with Engineering, Quality, Tooling, and Production teams to ensure all manufactured products meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, and applicable aerospace quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in CNC programming, machine set up, and troubleshooting within a high-precision manufacturing environment. The candidate must be capable of independently developing machining processes, selecting appropriate tooling and workholding solutions, resolving production challenges, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. A strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing requirements, close-tolerance machining, and continuous improvement principles is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and turning machines to manufacture aerospace fasteners, precision components, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Develop and optimize machining processes, tooling strategies, setup sheets, and program documentation for new and existing products.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding devices, fixtures, and machining methods to achieve quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Perform machine setups, first article inspections (FAI), and process validations before releasing jobs for production.
  • Troubleshoot CNC programming, machining, tooling, and quality issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Optimize machining cycle times, tool life, and machine utilization while maintaining required dimensional accuracy and product quality.
  • Modify CNC programs and implement process improvements to increase productivity, reduce scrap, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy and product compliance using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Tooling, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality standards.
