Job summary

Surge Staffing is seeking a dependable Metal Fabricator / CNC Machinery Operator in Norwalk, OH. Pay rate is $22.00/hour for a full-time role involving operating plasma tables, bandsaws, and press brakes to produce steel components per blueprints and specs.

Welding experience is a plus but not required. The role requires reading blueprints, measuring parts, inspecting quality, and maintaining a safe, organized work area while supporting production goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, machining, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints or fabrication drawings.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and operate CNC machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut steel materials.
• Operate CNC bandsaws to cut structural steel and other metal products.
• Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment to bend and form metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
• Measure materials and finished parts using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and proper dimensions.
• Load, unload, and move steel and other materials safely.
• Use forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Work with the production team to meet quality and production goals.
• Assist with general metal fabrication duties as needed.
