Austin Industrial seeks a CNC Mechanic Technician to repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machine tools and related systems at our Phoenix site. You will work on 3-axis and 5-axis mills, lathes, routers, and precision equipment to maximize uptime and production efficiency.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. On-site work with emphasis on safety and quality is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical trade certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool Technology, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, drive systems, and machine tool components.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills, CNC lathes, routers, and other precision machining equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving ball screws, linear rails, guideways, bearings, spindles, gearboxes, couplings, drive mechanisms, and other machine components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, regulators, cylinders, manifolds, and fluid delivery systems.
  • Inspect, align, level, and adjust machine components to maintain proper machine accuracy and performance.
  • Perform machine tear-downs, rebuilds, retrofits, and component replacements as required.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities, findings, and repair recommendations.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts inventory, and a clean work environment.

The CNC Mechanical Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of the mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural systems of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
