Job summary

John Deere in Rock Valley, IA is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment, electrical circuits, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. You will partner with engineering to reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

Candidates should have 1+ year of production maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical systems; PLCs/CNC experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least one of: High School Diploma or G.E.D., National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
• Must have at least 1 year of production maintenance work experience, including mechanical and electrical systems and basic tools.
• Ability to perform manual tasks for the duration of the shift, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive actions.
• CNC experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn CNC maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment, including electrical circuits, mechanical components, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production machines and conveyors.
• Read electrical schematics and ladder logic to trace faults and isolate issues.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams to diagnose spindle drives, servo drives, motors, and power supplies.
• Work with production and engineering to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement.
