Job summary

South Bay Solutions is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead CNC programming and manufacturing engineering in a high-mix, precision contract shop. You will balance hands-on production support with strategic leadership to drive process standardization and continuous improvement.

You will mentor a team of CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers, develop libraries and docs, collaborate with Production, Quality, Planning and Supply Chain, and push lean initiatives to reduce setup

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7–10+ years of CNC programming and manufacturing engineering experience.
• 3–5+ years of leadership experience in a contract manufacturing, job shop, or precision machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely CNC programs, tooling plans, fixtures, and setup documentation to support production schedules.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers.
• Develop standardized programming libraries, setup sheets, and engineering documentation.
• Drive lean initiatives to reduce setup time, cycle time, scrap, and downtime.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with manufacturability assessments and robust machining processes.
