Freeform seeks a Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) for its Hawthorne, CA facility. You will develop and optimize CNC programs for high-value metal components, collaborating with machinists and engineers to refine processes for speed, quality, and repeatability.

The role emphasizes hands-on debugging, tool selection, and cross-functional work with additive designers to improve fixtures and workflows. Onsite five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Experience with CNC programming and machining
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and optimize CNC programs for complex metal components
• Program, set up, and refine operations on multi-axis CNC machines (DMG Mori and Haas)
• Interpret CAD models, drawings, and GD&T specifications to create precise machining programs
• Select and optimize cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies
• Troubleshoot CNC programming issues with machinists and design engineers
• Maintain CNC program libraries, tool databases, and process documentation
• Implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce cycle times
• Collaborate with additive designers on workholding and design/process fixes
• Design and deploy automation for quality control and production rates
• Provide hands-on on-floor support and training as needed
• Ensure compliance with QC processes and safety standards
