Job summary

Moeller Precision Tool seeks an experienced Machinist to operate CNC and manual machines in Michigan. You will perform full setups, read blueprints, and machine tool steel components to tight tolerances in a climate-controlled shop.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of machining experience operating CNC and/or manual machines.
• CNC setups strongly preferred.
• Blueprint reading skills required.
• Knowledge of quality measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, indicator).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience machining tool steel and with Mazatrol or Fanuc is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform full CNC machine setups (tooling, offsets, fixturing).
• Machine tool steel components to tight tolerances.
• Read and interpret detailed blueprints.
• Set speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards.

CNC & Manual Machinist (Tool Steel) - Day Shift or Night Shift Available

Day Shift: $24-$30/hr + Overtime | Night Shift: $26.25-$32.25/hr (includes shift premium) + Overtime

Schedule

Day Shift

• 7:00am - 5:30pm (Mon-Fri)

Night Shift

• 5:30pm - 4:00am (Mon-Fri)

Additional Schedule Information

• Typical: 45-50 hours/week
• Additional overtime opportunities available
• Up to 14 scheduled Saturdays per year
• Saturday Day Shift schedule: 6:00am - 12:00pm
• Saturday Night Shift schedule: 12:00pm - 6:00pm

Pay & Benefits

• Day Shift: Starting at $24.00-$30.00/hr (based on experience)
• Night Shift: Starting at $26.25-$32.25/hr (includes $2.25/hr shift premium)
• Typical annual earnings of approximately $60,000-$85,000+, with additional earning potential for experienced machinists working overtime.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Consistent overtime available, paid at 1.5× after 40 hours.
• Night shift premium of $2.25.

What You’ll Do

• Perform full CNC machine setups (tooling, offsets, fixturing)
• Machine tool steel components to tight tolerances

What We're Looking For:

• 2+ years of machining experience operating CNC and/or manual machines
• Experience performing CNC machine setups strongly preferred
• Blueprint reading skills
• Knowledge and understanding of quality measurement tools (i.e. caliper, micrometer, indicator, etc.)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience machining tool steel and/or working with Mazatrol or Fanuc controls is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Standing for 8-10 hour shifts
• Frequent movement (walking, bending, lifting)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
