Job summary

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled CNC & Manual Machinist in Sandston, VA to support production and quality teams. You will set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and CNC lathes/mills, ensuring precision and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and edit CNC programs. This is a full-time on-site role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of machining experience in a precision environment.
• Hands-on CNC and manual machining expertise with setup experience.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and boring mills.
• Configure and run CNC lathes and mills with multi-axis tooling.
• Select tooling, establish offsets, and adjust speeds/feeds for accuracy.
• Edit CNC programs using G-code and manufacturer controls.
• Read blueprints and GD&T specs to ensure conformance.

As a CNC & Manual Machinist, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing department supporting production and quality assurance teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: CNC & Manual Machinist

Location: Sandston, VA

Pay Range: $28.00

What's the Job?

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and boring mills to produce high-quality components.
• Configure and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills, including multi-axis equipment, ensuring precision and efficiency.
• Select appropriate tooling, establish machine offsets, and adjust speeds and feeds for optimal machining processes.
• Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code, M-code, Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, or similar controls to meet specifications.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.

What's Needed?

• At least 5 years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing or job-shop environment.
• Hands-on experience with both CNC and manual machining operations.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to independently plan machine setups and troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
