Job summary

Torrey Holistics is seeking a skilled CNC/Manual Machinist for our Belleville, IL shop. The role requires precision work, interpretation of blueprints, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Expect responsibilities including setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes, loading programs, inspecting parts with metrology tools, and maintaining thorough documentation. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required in a heavy industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of combined CNC and manual machining experience.
• Advanced understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and metrology tools.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform machining tasks in an industrial shop environment (turning, milling, drilling, reaming, boring, slotting, grinding, tapping).
• Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathes; load and run CNC programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work and inspection results; read blueprints at an advanced level.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in both CNC and manual machining who can work independently, maintain high standards, and contribute to a safe, efficient shop environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform machining tasks safely and efficiently in an industrial shop environment. Processes include turning, milling, drilling, reaming, boring, slotting, grinding, and tapping.Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills and lathes.Load and run CNC programs while ensuring accuracy and machine efficiency.Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and inspection results.Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE.Safely rig, move, and flip heavy parts using overhead cranes.Monitor and maintain shop tooling.Read and interpret blueprints at an advanced level.Inspect and report dimensional features using scales, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, indicators, and other inspection equipment.QualificationsPositive attitude, reliable attendance, and ability to contribute to a safety‑focused, efficient work culture.Knowledge of rigging and safe use of overhead cranes.Minimum 10 years of combined CNC and manual machining experience.Advanced understanding of blueprints, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.Advanced understanding of metrology and inspection tools.Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.Ability to stand for extended periods.You should be proficient in:CNC ToolingCNC ProgrammingCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverManual Machining Skills
