Job summary

WIKA Group is seeking skilled machinists to support high-precision manufacturing processes in our GA facility. You will study work orders, verify blueprints and GD&T, and set up lathes and mills with accurate offsets and tool registers.

You will measure first-run parts to ensure conformance and uphold safety and QA standards. Responsibilities include maintaining tooling, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting production logs.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years previous experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • HSD or GED required
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Be able to work overtime if required. (including weekends)
  • Basic skills in reading blueprints and basic math skills
  • Basic knowledge of machine tool repair and maintenance preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of metal cutting and machining practices

Responsibilities

  • Plan machining by studying work orders and verifying blueprints, materials, specs, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters.
  • Set up lathes/mills by entering instructions, zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, and compensation; calculate requirements.
  • Set up lathes/mills by adjusting collets, three-jaw chucks, vise jaws, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and stock pushers/pullers.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample pieces per WIKA standards.
  • Maintain specifications by observing CNC tools, sharpening/replacing worn tools, and following QA procedures.
  • Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures/regulations.
  • Maintain equipment with preventive maintenance; follow manufacturer instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work.
  • Perform ancillary duties as required
