Ingersoll Rand is seeking a CNC Maintenance Mechanic III in Alsip, IL. The role focuses on planning, installing, and repairing CNC and manual machines with strict adherence to safety practices and procedures.

The candidate should demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints and schematics while collaborating with a team to uphold company values. The position is on-site in Alsip, with a Monday–Friday schedule, weekend as needed, and a starting hourly pay with sign-on

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic machines.
  • 3+ years maintenance experience with CNC and manual machines.
  • 2+ years troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and building systems.
  • 2+ years reading blueprints and electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • 2+ years using precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and follow safety procedures for self and others.
  • Promote a safe working environment and report hazards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workplace aligned with preventative maintenance.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics and layouts.
  • Lead installation, removal or relocation of equipment.
  • Interpret hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and diagnose repairs.
  • Apply Lock Out/Tag Out procedures during servicing.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Job Overview

The CNC Maintenance Mechanic is a team member who is efficiently planning, installing, and repairing CNC and manual machines. We are seeking a reliable professional with a strong mechanical aptitude who adheres to safety procedures and ethical standards. A successful candidate will be proficient in blueprint reading, the incumbent collaborates seamlessly, upholding our mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize and adhere to company safety procedures to ensure the well-being of oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property.
  • Promote a culture of safety, report unsafe practices, and actively contribute to a secure working environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace, in line with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Prepare and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts.
  • Lead equipment installation, removal, or relocation.
  • Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, troubleshoot, and determine repair needs.
  • Implement Lock Out/Tag Out procedures when servicing machines.
  • Demonstrate excellence in performing all other assigned duties.
Requirements
  • At least 3 (three) or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machines.
  • At least 3 (three) or more years of maintenance experience, with proven knowledge in CNC and manual machine equipment.
  • At least 2 (two) or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, as well as heating, cooling, and general building systems
  • At least 2 (two) or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • At least 2 (two) or more years of experience utilizing measuring devices such as micrometers, gages, meters, calipers, and other measuring tools.
Core Competencies
  • Mechanical Aptitude & Technical Skills: Strong understanding and hands‑on experience with precision tools, machinery, and industrial processes, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and reading English.
  • Strong competency in critical thinking and effective problem‑solving within technical or fast‑paced environments.
  • An onsite industrial manufacturing position, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to knee, bend, climb a ladder, and work in restricted spaces, walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in high elevations, i.e., scissor lift.

Pay Range

Union Relationship

  • New employees are regarded as probationary for the first 60 working days of their employment.
  • After probation, the employee will join the union with an initiation fee and monthly dues.
