Job summary

BARNES Aerospace is hiring CNC Machinists in Warren, MI. The role involves operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling and turning machines, loading and setting up parts, and reading CNC programs.

You will work with hard metals like Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel in a cell-based manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CNC setup experience, strong math skills, and a proven ability to interpret operation sheets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Ability to read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets.
• Strong communication and problemsolving skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in mathematics and calculator use.
• Experience making offsets at the machine.
• Ability to read and understand CNC programs.
• Experience setting up and using machining tools and fixtures.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
• Familiarity with rightangle head operations.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to work within tight tolerances (thousandths of an inch).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret CNC programs at the machine.
• Set up tools using tool sheets and ensure proper configuration.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
