LOOKING FOR A CAREER OPPORTUNITY where you make parts for planes, trains, Ford pickup trucks, oil well drilling, and much more?

We are growing and looking for machinists of all skill levels. Build and expand your career at Modern. 2nd shift, 3 PM - 11 PM opportunities. Some experience in blueprint reading and/or precision measuring is needed to begin machinist training.

Beginning Machinists:

Trainees are taught by seasoned employees how to precisely measure parts with special gauges and read blueprints. You will take metal and cut it, rip it, and change a hunk of metal to a super functioning part that is used throughout the world. Structured training classes.

For the Seasoned Machinist:

What are your career goals? Set-up, Programming, Supervisor, Engineer, metrology? Tuition reimbursement and on-the-job training.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Basic Responsibilities:

  1. Operate tools for making stuff to change raw metal into precise finished parts.
  2. Know the inspection tools to ensure what you are making meets the drawing: precision micrometers, dial/digital calipers, dial indicators, and depth gauges.
  3. You make, you verify, and you decide what adjustments are needed based on inspection results.
  4. Develop traceability by documenting and entering your results data for future knowledge and process improvement.
  5. Machine set-up.
