Davis Machine and Manufacturing, located in Texas, is seeking a skilled Weekend Machinist to operate and maintain CNC and manual equipment on weekend shifts. You will read blueprints, set up machines, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires experience with lathes, mills, and grinders, plus the ability to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and work independently or with a team to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a machinist or in a similar manufacturing role preferred.
• Experience with CNC machines and/or manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Familiarity with machining equipment including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments to verify part quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate various machining tools and equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines.
• Set up machines according to specifications, blueprints, and production requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines during weekend shifts.
• Identify and promptly report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Weekend Machinist to join our team at our facility located at 1503 Royal Pkwy, TX. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining machining equipment during weekend shifts while ensuring production goals are achieved safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience working with CNC and/or manual machining equipment, can read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and is comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a production environment.
