Main position objectives

The Machine Operator will produce high-quality, precision tooling used in the Maag family of products. They will use the necessary machine shop equipment in a safe and productive manner. Will work in a team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities in specific machining processes.

Position Description – Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Perform basic set-ups and operate machine shop equipment as designated by the machine shop supervisor.
• Use effective and efficient methods to operate each machine.
• Set correct machining parameters for each cutting tool.
• Inspect products dimensionally and visually to ensure they meet all print and customer requirements.
• Enter data into a database.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Environment

Work in a machine shop environment. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times due to exposure to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp tools, and moving parts.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, or bend as required.
• Lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Job Specification

High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical skills are a plus. Mechanical inclination and some machining background are desirable.

Professional Experience

Minimum of 1-year manufacturing experience required. CNC setup/operation and steel grinding experience are desirable.
