Job description

Precision Cutting Tool manufacturing company looking for a Full Time CNC Operator for 2nd Shift.

Must be 18 years or older. Benefits available on first day of work and include Medical, Dental, Vision. 401k with company match after 90 days. Holiday pay and PTO available after probationary period.

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintains quality and safety standards; keeps records and maintains equipment supplies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
  2. Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  3. Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available and anticipates needed stock.
  4. Places and expedites orders for stock, verifying receipt of stock.
  5. Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zeros and reference points.
  6. Sets tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches.
  7. Calculates requirements including basic math and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
  8. Loads machine by lifting stock into position.
  9. Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to standards.
  10. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including operations like turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing.
  11. Take measurements and detect malfunctions.
  12. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  13. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: Equivalent to high school education or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands: Frequently stand and walk; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities required.

Work Environment: Work near moving mechanical parts; moderate to loud noise level; occasional exposure to moving parts.
