CNC Machinist – Vertical Mill


Pay: $21–$29 per hour (DOE)

Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Location: Tulsa, OK

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Candidates must pass an on-site CNC test to qualify for this position.


Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist – Vertical Mill to join a climate-controlled facility in Tulsa, specializing in the production of fusion and fintube machines. This role involves setting up and operating CNC machinery, reading and interpreting blueprints, and troubleshooting machining issues. Successful candidates must have hands-on experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools to ensure compliance with specifications.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate a 3-axis HAAS Vertical Mill, requiring advanced setup skills.
  2. Place and secure parts, fixtures, and tools onto machines.
  3. Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify specifications.
  4. Read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and tolerances for various parts.
  5. Perform machine setup, including:
    1. Loading fixtures
    2. Setting up and loading tools
    3. Selecting and loading programs
    4. Setting work coordinates
    5. Adjusting offsets and verifying first-part accuracy
  6. Identify and select the correct materials for each job.
  7. Ensure assigned run times and production goals are met.

Job Requirements

  1. Must own or be willing to purchase a minimum set of tools and a locking toolbox.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience operating CNC Lathe, Vertical Mill, and Manual Lathe.
  3. Proven and consistent work history in CNC machining.
  4. Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine operation issues.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, and climb for 95 percent of the shift while operating machinery.
  2. Ability to lift and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  3. Use of lifting devices when possible, though some parts may require manual handling due to confined workspaces.
