Summary/Objective

The CNC Swiss Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating Tsugami CNC Swiss lathes to produce precision parts and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, an eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions

  • Set up and operate Tsugami CNC Swiss machines to produce precision parts (typically under 50mm/2 inches in diameter and length) per specifications.
  • Operate the lathe machine as needed, particularly during Tsugami machine downtime, to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Inspect and measure finished parts, ensuring they meet quality standards and tolerances; adjust machines as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot CNC machines to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs to enhance production efficiency and part quality.
  • Monitor equipment for proper operation and inspect first pieces for approval before full production.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using common gauges (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, depth micrometers, etc.) per established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Make informed decisions on quality, tolerances, and sequence of operations while identifying and resolving routine and some non-routine issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, machine performance, and any encountered issues.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace, following company safety protocols and reporting concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with the production team, supervisors, and quality inspectors to ensure smooth workflow and timely order completion.

Job Requirements/ Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating Tsugami Swiss Machine required.
  • Minimum 2 years CNC Lathe experience required.
  • Must be willing to operate the lathe machine during periods of inactivity on the Tsugami machine to maximize productivity.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating Tsugami Swiss machines and CNC lathes.
  • Must be willing to operate the lathe machine during Tsugami machine downtime to maintain productivity.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a high-paced environment.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • AS9100 and ISO 9001 experience or familiarity is a plus.
