Are you looking for a fresh start in a growing industry? Staffmark is hiring a CNC Machinist Trainee for a well-established manufacturing facility in Youngsville, LA. Whether you're experienced or recently completed a machinist program, this is a great opportunity to launch or grow your career in precision manufacturing-all while earning competitive pay and gaining valuable hands-on experience.



Pay: $15 - $18 per hour, depending on experience



Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40+ hours/week, flexibility required; some weekends as needed)



Responsibilities:



  • Set up and operate CNC machinery (mills, lathes, grinders)

  • Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements

  • Mark dimensions and reference points on materials to guide machining processes

  • Select and secure proper fixtures, tools, and materials

  • Calculate and adjust machine settings including speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting angles

  • Monitor operations for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments

  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications

  • Communicate with supervisors and team members to resolve production or assembly issues

  • Perform basic maintenance and report equipment concerns

  • Maintain a clean, organized work area



Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2-3 years of CNC mill or lathe experience preferred, but recent graduates of a certified machinist program will also be considered

  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and basic math skills are essential
