Job description

CNC MACHINIST (STARSHIP COMPONENTS) – 2ND SHIFT

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operate, setup, and program edit CNC machines, and produce dev, non-flight, and flight hardware needed to achieve quick turn program goals
  2. Perform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assets (preferably Okuma mill-turn)
  3. Prioritize daily work to ensure satisfying customer need dates with the highest quality of parts
  4. Manage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programs
  5. Perform on machine deburr of hardware to contribute consistent quality of parts with less human intervention
  6. Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basis
  7. Maintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S, and general upkeep activities
  8. Remain flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and support teammates however possible
  9. Complete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each process
  10. Introduce fresh ideas in machining, fixturing and tooling approach for optimal efficiency

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  2. 1+ years of experience in CNC machining

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5+ years of experience operating CNC machinery
  2. Ability to program using Esprit CAD/CAM software
  3. Proficient knowledge in high efficiency milling and turning
  4. Ability to read accurately, write clearly, and perform basic arithmetic calculations accurately
  5. Experience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, and measurement of parts
  6. Strong mechanical aptitude
  7. Strong interpersonal skills including, but not limited to, contributing to a team-oriented environment, balancing the team, and individual responsibilities

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Estimated start time: 2nd shift: 1:00 PM
  2. Must be capable of lifting 35 lbs. unassisted
  3. Must be capable of standing and kneeling for 8 hours
  4. Ability to use physical and repetitive movements such as bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
  5. Ability to be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
  6. Capable and or has the capacity to learn all assets in the shop
  7. Must be able and willing to cross train their peers and or to be cross trained by their peers

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hour
Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour
Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
