Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Secure job assignment and partial instruction for diverse work, complex facilities, and conventional materials.
    • Interpret sequence of operations and/or set up.
    • Secures materials, facilities, and accessories.
  • Sets up and operates all machine tools such as CNC Machine Tools, engine lathe, radial drills, etc.
    • Determines and sets feeds and speeds as required for material and machining operation. Optimizes machine operations for best utilization of machine time, material utilization, and tooling utilization.
    • Performs various hand operations such as deburring and cleaning.
    • Calls through machine controls to obtain computer programs from DNC network, sets control, and observes machining operations.
    • Trains operators on proper operation and maintenance of machine tools.
    • When needed, adjusts flow of coolant, makes required machine adjustments.
    • Removes piece from machine and sets aside and identifies as instructed or designated.
  • Handles materials either manually or with the aid of a floor operated overhead crane.
  • Performs foregoing operations to close tolerances with the maximum utilization of materials.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including facilities, exercising care in the use of the facilities and assisting in their repair when required.
  • Performs various other related duties as assigned
  • Performs all duties and areas of responsibility in accordance to established operational procedures to ensure efficiency, quality and conformance to applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in operating, editing, setting-up of CNC/Manual machines for precision parts.
  • Must be able to read and interpret detailed blueprints, bills of material, etc.
  • Skilled in the use of all types of precision measuring instruments.
  • Job requires stooping, bending, climbing, and capability of lifting up to 50 pounds.
