Role Overview

We have an immediate opening for an experienced full-time CNC Machinist Setup/Operator in our advanced manufacturing assembly department based in our Hopkinton, MA location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday. This position involves reading blueprints, programming in MasterCAM, and setting up/operating machines such as CNC mills and lathes.

Overtime is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and run CNC mills and lathes (HAAS preferred)
  • Read engineering drawings (blueprint reading)
  • Use knowledge of G&M codes in CNC programming process
  • Make adjustments with MDI at CNC machine tool control
  • Use common inspection equipment
  • Run parts on Haas CNC mills and lathes including 3 and 4 axis milling and lathe live tooling
  • Perform in-process and final inspection on those parts and verify they meet all print tolerances and specifications
  • Operate independently and go from print to part
  • Edit, troubleshoot and improve machining programs
  • Operate multiple machines, while meeting timeline demands and adhering to safety requirements

Requirements:

  • Programming experience is a must. Mastercam preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing)
  • Apprentice or technical schooling for precision machining (CNC or Manual)
  • Experience working with rigorous tight tolerances and minute measurements
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and match delivery dates
