Qualifications

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Manufacturing, Supply Chain support, Facilities, and Security across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a team of Machinists, NC Programmers, and Technicians, you will set up, operate, and maintain state-of-the-art CNC machines to fabricate components for spaceflight systems. You will impact all aspects of CNC machining and fabrication, responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines to produce precise components for high-value, tight-tolerance parts.

Must be able to work one or more of the following shifts:

  • A Shift - Monday - Thursday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • B Shift - Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am
  • C Shift - Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • D Shift - Friday, Saturday, 5:00 pm - 5:30 am

Qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of related CNC experience.
  • Two (2) years' experience with multi-axis machines.
  • Desired: Two (2) years' experience with CNC programming.
  • Or: 15+ years manual/tool and die experience.
  • Experience with CNC programming, preferably NX 10 thru 2306.
  • Experience with CNC machines such as Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, Hermle, and/or Okuma.
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, OSP, or other CNC controls.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
  • Familiarity with personal computers.
  • Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work in small/restricted areas, and lift/carry 25 lbs.
  • Ability to build trust, maintain positive/professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Desired:

  • Tooling and fixture design experience.
  • Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience.
  • Knowledge of outside processing such as heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.
  • CMM programming/operation experience.
  • Conversational programming skills.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment like cranes and forklifts.
