Job summary

Safe Fleet is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC Lathe and Mill equipment, read blueprints, and verify dimensions with gauges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform tooling changes, ensure parts meet specifications, and maintain production documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience. Expect regular safety practices and a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively; basic math and geometry understanding.
• Knowledge of manufacturing software; database software and CNC software.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, operates and assists/edits programming of the CNC Lathe/Mill to perform machining operations.
• Sets up CNC Lathe to complete metal work pieces to specifications.
• Reviews setup sheets and specifications to determine program sequence and dimensions.
• Inserts cutting tools and positions tools on turret.
• Verifies accuracy of machined pieces using gauges and inspection tooling.
• Makes program/tooling adjustments to meet specifications.
• Loads bar stock or tubing into feeders.
• Runs secondary operations when time allows.
• Aids Lead in scheduling to optimize workflow.
• Maintains production paperwork and inspection procedures.
