Job summary

Dowding Industries, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, read blueprints, and ensure quality and safety standards. You will maintain records, monitor tooling, and perform routine maintenance while meeting production targets.

The ideal candidate has experience with blueprints, G-codes, micrometers, and tooling instructions, along with good communication skills to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and micrometers.
• Proficient in G-code edits and tool selection.
• Knowledge of production materials and basic machining steps.

Responsibilities

• Set up computerized CNC machines to perform operations.
• Read blueprints and tolerances to determine sequence of operations.
• Position and secure tools in holders (chuck, collet, or toolpost).
• Operate bench grinder to sharpen tools.
• Input control instructions into machines.
• Replace old machine tools as needed.
• Take accurate measurements of work pieces with gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep machines in good condition.
• Operate three or more machines with minimal assistance.
• Perform other duties as needed.
