Job summary

Responsibilities

• Analyses work orders, blueprints to determine process, materials, equipment, and sequence of operations.
• Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
• Calculates and sets controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut; enters commands for CNC media.
• Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and verifies finished work to specs with measuring devices.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of settings.
• Confers with engineers and others to resolve machining problems.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
