Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking a CNC machinist to setup and operate machining centers to manufacture metal parts from raw materials. The role involves interpreting drawings and program sheets, selecting and changing cutting tools, and inspecting workpieces to meet specifications.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complicated drawings, program sheets and process sheets to determine work.
• Read and understand blue prints.
• Operate CNC machining centers performing milling, drilling, boring and related operations.
• Check finished workpieces against specifications using gaging tools and inspection methods.
• Attach fixtures, set up machine, select tools and load control media.
• Change cutting tools and adjust feed, speed, and tooling as required.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleanliness of work area.
