Job summary

Borg Design Inc in Hudson, MA is seeking a Machinist to set up and operate CNC or manual machines and read engineering drawings. You will machine parts to tight tolerances, perform inspections with precision tools, and document records in ERP systems.

The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of machinist experience, familiarity with GD&T, and a solid understanding of ISO/AS9100 quality

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T to verify tolerances.
• Experience with CNC and/or manual machining in a shop.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or job tracking software.
• Knowledge of ISO/AS9100 quality systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machines (mills & lathes).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Machine parts to required tolerances and quality standards.
• Perform part inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators).
• Make tooling offsets and basic program adjustments as required.
• Maintain quality standards and document in-process inspections.
• Document work as required (job travelers, inspection records, ERP entries).
• Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with supervisors/engineers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality expectations.
