CNC Machinist Okuma Lathe and Mill Turn - 2nd Shift 10% shift pay and $1,500 sign on bonus

Join us to apply for the CNC Machinist Okuma Lathe and Mill Turn - 2nd Shift with 10% shift pay and a $1,500 sign-on bonus role at ARCH.

Job Overview

This position involves interpreting blueprints, setting up machines, operating CNC and manual lathes and mills, and ensuring quality standards are met. Responsibilities include machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, along with quality checks and documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures and tools on machines.
  • Load and secure raw materials.
  • Set controls for manual operations; retrieve and download CNC programs.
  • Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments.
  • Unload finished parts, perform deburring, and conduct quality checks using CMM/DCC-CMM.
  • Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, inspectors, and maintenance staff.
Competencies
  • Quality: Ensure accuracy, promote quality improvement, and monitor own work.
  • Quantity: Meet productivity standards and work efficiently.
  • Safety: Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and use equipment properly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; VoTech or trade school preferred.
  • Completion of a machining apprenticeship or 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and present data effectively.
  • Strong math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels. Physical demands include standing, handling, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds with vision requirements for close and depth perception.
