Job summary

SilencerCo, LLC in Riverton, UT is seeking a Production Machinist for a week-night shift (4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Mon-Thu). The role focuses on resolving production abnormalities across Mills, EDMs, Lathes, and Swiss machines while mentoring Cell Leads and collaborating with programming for optimization.

Candidates should have 3 years of machining experience, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and be willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime. A strong grasp of NC code, safety, and SPC is expected.

Qualifications

• 3 years of machining experience, or a related field.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Preferred: Machine Monitoring Applications experience.
• Knowledge of programming principles and machining processes.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Create standard work procedures and update processes and procedures as problems are identified and eliminated
• Maintain operator level 3 skill status on all production CNC's
• Ability to troubleshoot NC code on all production machines
• Proof new programs, fixtures and setups before handoff to normal production
• Provide programming suggestions to improve stability, delivery, tool path alignment, etc.
• Manage production responsible TPM intervals to ensure we don't observe breakdowns, long cycle times, rework, etc.
• Comply with safe work practices; understanding work injury procedures, workers comp, and OSHA standards
• Solves tooling issues by identifying productivity of tooling, evaluating tooling performance, and evaluating new tooling requirements
• Understand key SPC principles such as Cp, Cpk and work to maintain a process capable environment for operators
• Responsible for any potential rework strategies that may be deployed
• Ability to collect accurate process metrics through new product introduction and process improvements
• Schedule flexibility as needed
• All other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
