Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Proven experience as a CNC machinist or similar role in manufacturing.
• Experience operating lathes, mills and/or grinders.
• Understanding of GD&T principles and blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls (training provided).
• Ability to operate precision measuring equipment and tools.
• Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s).

Responsibilities

• Reviews job package in its entirety — routings, blueprints, specifications and other docs to understand the process plan and part configuration.
• Builds setup according to documented plan using proper setup procedures and tooling.
• Operates production equipment to produce components meeting customer needs.
• Initiates changes to setup/operation to optimize production efficiency.
• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments.
• Evaluates deviations and initiates corrective action; reports via Process Discrepancy Report (PDR).
• Trains less experienced machinists in advanced machining techniques to raise competency.
• Maintains professional relationships with superiors, peers and subordinates.
