Job summary

ATI in Appleton, WI is seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator to run vertical turning centers for aerospace-grade components. The role offers a 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 2:30pm-12:30am with a $1/hour shift differential.

You will read drawings, set up tooling, inspect using precision gauges, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure parts meet exact specifications. Training may occur on day shift; safety and quality are priorities in a climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate degree in electrical, mechanical or related curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Receive work instructions, setup sheets, and in-process check sheets for operations.
• Read drawings, sketches, tool sheets, and instructions for machining operations.
• Use drawings to determine required dimensions, travels and tolerances.
• Oversee CNC machining of forgings on various super alloys with engineering support.
• Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) to verify dimensions.
• Load/unload parts with an overhead hoist.
• Handle material with care before and after machining.

We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a unique opportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is not your typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you will be an integral part of a successful team and willbe responsible foroperatingthe vertical turning centers that produce specialized products and components for the aerospace industry.In this role, you will be able to work with new state-of-the art equipment in a safe, clean,air and climate-controlled environment.

This is a 2nd shift position Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-12:30am. This position also includes anadditional$1/hour shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift. Training may be conducted on day shift Monday-Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Receives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1stpieceand in-process check sheets from department supervisionindicatingthe operations to be performed
• Reads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setups
• Uses operational drawings todeterminerequired dimensions,travelsand tolerance to be maintained
• Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made fromvarious typesof super alloys with full support of the engineering and programming departments
• Uses precision or standard measuring devices that are completelyfurnishedby the company, such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges and profilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications
• Loads and unloads pieces using an overhead hoist
• Exercisescarein handling material before and after the machining operation.

Basic Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate degree in electrical, mechanical or another related curriculum.
