Job summary

Pankl Aerospace Systems is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Machine Operator in Cerritos, CA to set up and operate CNC and manual equipment, reading blueprints and job instructions to produce high‑precision aerospace parts while upholding safety and quality standards.

You'll work with a collaborative production team, participate in problem solving and RCCA, and contribute to continuous improvement; prior aerospace experience and GD&T knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years machining/manufacturing experience.
• Machining certification or equivalent experience.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Strong English reading and writing skills.
• Experience with inspection and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate: CNC lathes, CNC mills (up to 5-axis), CNC mill-turn machines, CNC hobbers, CNC cylindrical grinders, manual machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
• Meet daily production schedules and quality standards.
• Perform preventive machine maintenance.
• Participate in problem-solving and RCCA activities.
• Report production issues promptly.
• Cross-train team members and support continuous improvement efforts.

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of machining/manufacturing experience
• Machining certification or equivalent experience
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Basic computer and shop math skills
• Strong English reading and writing skills
• Experience with inspection and measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, plug gauges, ring gauges, etc.)
• Familiarity with AS9100, flight safety requirements, 5S, and continuous improvement practices

• Cross‑train team members and support continuous improvement efforts
