Job summary

Pankl Aerospace Systems is seeking a CNC Machinist / Machine Operator to join our Cerritos, CA manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce high-precision aerospace components, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of machining/manufacturing experience.
• Machining certification or equivalent experience.
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, mill-turns, hobbers, grinders, and manual equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
• Meet daily production schedules and quality standards.
• Perform preventive machine maintenance.
• Participate in RCCA activities and report issues promptly.
• Cross-train team members and support continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of machining/manufacturing experience
• Machining certification or equivalent experience
• Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Basic computer and shop math skills
• Strong English reading and writing skills
• Experience with inspection and measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, plug gauges, ring gauges, etc.)
• Familiarity with AS9100, flight safety requirements, 5S, and continuous improvement practices

  • CNC mills (up to 5-axis)
  • CNC mill-turn machines
  • CNC hobbers
  • CNC cylindrical grinders
  • Manual machining equipment (lathes, honing, thread grinding, etc.)
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents
• Meet daily production schedules and quality standards
• Perform preventive machine maintenance
• Participate in problem-solving and root cause corrective action (RCCA) activities
• Report production issues promptly
• Cross-train team members and support continuous improvement efforts
