The Role

The CNC Machinist will set up and operate CNC Machining Centers, read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to produce machined parts within tolerances. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and more.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Perform machining operations based on current practices, methods, and techniques.
  2. Interpret drawings, routings, and specifications to machine components ensuring compliance with tolerances.
  3. Set up fixtures, jigs, tooling, and other items for undocumented setups following documented instructions.
  4. Load, set up, and operate machine tools to produce finished work.
  5. Select and program CNC controls, set tool and work offsets, and perform calculations for machining parameters.
  6. Adjust machine speeds and feeds for efficiency.
  7. Use canned cycles, conversational routines, and manual programming.
  8. Verify material accuracy and inspect work to meet specifications.
  9. Perform layouts and transfer/record heat numbers for traceability.
  10. Handle materials and tooling, and operate forklifts as needed.
  11. Report shortages, malfunctions, and quality issues immediately.
  12. Utilize electronic data systems for transactions.
  13. Assist and train new employees and other ML or M2 employees.
  14. Maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
  15. Perform preventative maintenance and 5S activities.
  16. Follow safety rules, verify calibration of gauges, and sign off on inspection paperwork.
  17. Wear PPE and participate in safety checks and volunteer activities.
  18. Participate in training and accept new equipment and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Vocational training in CNC operation, measuring tools, and tooling applications, or equivalent experience.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. At least 3 years of diversified CNC machining experience within the last 5 years.
  4. Knowledge of machining technology, shop mathematics, and precision measurement.
  5. Pass the Ml classification test with a score of 85% or higher.
Day in the Life

The environment is a typical manufacturing facility. Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, and moving about; lifting up to 30-35 lbs; and communicating with team members.
