This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, Security, and Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, supporting Manufacturing and Supply Chain across all facilities.

As part of a team of Machinists, NC Programmers, and Technicians, you will set up, operate, and maintain world-class CNC machines to fabricate components for spaceflight systems, impacting all aspects of CNC machining and fabrication. You will be responsible for producing accurate components with tight tolerances for high-value parts.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Programming, setting up, and machining with 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, multi-axis lathes, and developing critical machining processes
  • Collaborating with engineering to document and standardize production processes
  • Working with leadership to prioritize work based on schedules and goals, impacting space flight programs
  • Ensuring product quality and conformance to specifications

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machining
  • Experience machining nickel-based alloys (Inconel, Monel), Copper, Aluminum, or Titanium
  • Extensive experience with CNC machines like Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, or Okuma
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol, or other CNC controls
  • Blue print reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994
  • Familiarity with personal computers
  • Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, work in small areas, and lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to build trust, maintain professionalism, and contribute to inclusion

Desired:

  • Tooling and fixture design
  • Vertical Turning Lathe experience
  • Knowledge of heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding
  • CMM programming/operation
  • CNC programming skills, preferably Mastercam X6-X8
  • Conversational programming skills
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment
