Job summary

Hyson is seeking a CNC Machinist – Lathe Operator for 1st and 2nd shifts in Brecksville, Ohio. You will set up machines, load and unload parts, measure outputs, and run lathes to print specifications while following all processes.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of related experience, strong knowledge of CNCs, G-code editing, blueprints, and measuring tools. You must be detail‑oriented, able to work with minimal supervision, and collaborate with a safety‑minded, team‑oriented group.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years related experience.

• Knowledge of CNC machines, basic programming, and CAM concepts.
• Experience editing and optimizing G-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes (sliding head and fixed head).
• Load/unload parts and verify first-piece using measurements.
• Identify programs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Prepare machines to run unmanned (overnight or weekend).
• Verify step up through measurement of first-run part and sample workpieces.
• Inspect parts and maintain quality records according to work instructions.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in work areas.
• Inspect tools for wear /breakage; replace as needed.
• Adjust zero shift or references, set tool registers, and offsets.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions as needed and call for repair.
• Notify supervisor of product discrepancies or equipment malfunction.
• Adheres to established company policies and procedures such as safety regulations.

Hyson is seeking a CNC Machinist – Lathe Operatorresponsible for various day-to-day functions, including machine set-up, part loading/un-loading, measurement of parts and operating the machinery efficiency. Ensuring the machine's performance meets production demand and operates to produce parts to print specifications while following all established processes and procedures

Salary Range:$27-$35 an hour based on experience

Core Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate various CNC machines, multitasking and both sliding head and fixed head lathes. (i.e. Mazak, Mori-Seiki, Star)
• Manufacture components to tolerance, maintaining a high standard of work.
• Identify and load correct programs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Prepare machines to run unmanned, either over night or over the weekend.
• Verify step up through measurement of first-run part and sample workpieces.
• Inspect parts and maintain quality records according to work instructions.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in work areas.
• Inspects tools for wear /breakage. Replace as needed.
• Adjust zero shift or references, set tool registers, and offsets.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions as needed and call for repair.

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years related experience
• Demonstrated experience working in roles that require mechanical skills, including mechanical/air power tools and powered industrial vehicles (i.e. lift trucks).
• Working knowledge of computers and electronics, CNC’s/CNC Machines, understands basic programming, and computer aided manufacturing.
• Experience editing and optimizing G-code programs for maximizing efficiency is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience reading blueprints.
• Mechanically inclined with attention to detail.
• Able to effectively communicate and follow instructions in verbal and written form.
• Self-motivated and team oriented, with strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to work well with minimal direct management oversight.
• Able to adapt and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Basic understanding and demonstrated experience complying with required safety and health expectations.
• Working knowledge of basic math and the ability to use measuring tools (Gages, Faro Arm, optical comparator)
• Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints.
• Physical Dexterity.
• Familiarity with multi-spindle/multi-turret machines is a plus.

Education Requirements and Preferences:

• High School Diploma/GED; Trade School Certification or applicable Co-Op experience preferred
