Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy CNC Machinist, responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling and turning centers to produce components that meet stringent aerospace standards. This role requires expert knowledge of multi-axis machining, tight-tolerance work, and experience with a variety of materials. A successful candidate excels at interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T requirements, performing in-process inspections, troubleshooting machining issues, maintaining equipment and tooling, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and quality management system standards.
Education & Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent 10+ years of experience in CNC Machining, Aerospace machining experience is a plus Operational knowledge of multi-axis CNC equipment, workholding, and fixturing Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes Thorough understanding of inspection equipment and GD&T Ability to interpret schematics and assembly drawings Familiarity of SolidWorks or similar computer aided design tools Knowledge of hyperMILL, Mastercam, and Siemens 840d a plus Knowledge of DMG Mori machine tools a plus Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high quality results Core Skills Passion for space and the mission Entrepreneurial, growth mindset High EQ and ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally Tech-solutioning in using systems and tools to move smarter and faster Core Competencies: Embody our core values of leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
